EATON SQUARE SENIOR’S GCSE RESULTS MOVE INTO TOP GEAR

22nd August 2024

Eaton Square Senior’s latest GCSE results show that the school continues to go from strength to strength, with 20% of students scoring the top mark of 9 (the equivalent of the previous A* grade) and over 40% scoring 8s and 9s, representing a doubling from the previous year.

Overall, more than half of our GCSE students scored 9-7s and 65% scored 9-6 with the sciences, Maths, Languages and Computer Science all scoring particularly well, and the arts subjects – Art, History, English and Geography also showing good year on year improvement.

At a time when it is increasingly important to future-proof young people with the qualifications and skills they will need in their future lives, Eaton Square students are making their mark.   What’s more, with over three quarters of our Modern Language results also at 9-8, our students are well set to be the dynamic global digital nomads of the future.

By offering three different GCSE Mathematics qualifications – Maths, Further Maths and Statistics, students have an opportunity to gain core mathematical skills which set them up to excel, not only in the future, but in a full range of GCSE subjects.  And excel they have, with 50% of grades in Biology and Computer Science at 9-8, just pipping Chemistry (46%) and Physics (46%) on top of the 100% Statistics GCSE awarded 9-8 and 80% of Further Mathematics grades also at 9-8.  The Nobel prize authorities should keep their eyes on them…

Head, Dr Adrian Rainbow said, ‘Following on from some fantastic A Level results last week, our students have yet again excelled themselves with some stunning GCSE results, setting new school records and bucking the national trend, proving that our recent curriculum changes are bearing fruit.’

‘It is clear that this fabulous year group have risen admirably to the challenge of their first academic milestone.  I commend their hard work, team spirit and vigour.  I have enjoyed celebrating their tremendous results with them and thank my superb colleagues who have worked so hard and guided them so admirably along the way.’

‘We look forward to seeing them continue to flourish as they move on to life at Sixth form.’

London Park Schools’ Principal, Mrs Suzie Longstaff, commented; ‘What a wonderful set of results which are testament to the ability of our smaller school to not only provide a wonderful community, but some big results too.’
