ESS wins debate!

On 30th June the annual Year 3 debate between Eaton Square and Eaton House Belgravia took place in the Hall at 79. The motion was: “This house believes the voting age should be lowered”, with Eaton House supporting, and ESS against.

The pupils were magnificent and conducted themselves superbly. The debate was nuanced and argued in a spirit of fair play, with all spectators enjoying a fantastic to-and-fro. In the end ESS came out on top, retaining the trophy for another year, congratulations all!

What stood out for the Headmaster is that there was far less notes reading from the ESS team and they had obviously memorised far more of their arguments rather than simply reading the points out. They also countered the opponents points expertly. Well done Mackenzie, Isaac, Annabel and Forbes, and of course the entire Year 3 pupils and staff, particularly Mrs Armitage for organising such a wonderful afternoon.
